what is a health coach?

Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches support clients in figuring out where to start the change process and how to make sustainable shifts to achieve their wellness goals. They’re also uniquely positioned to bring lasting change to those living with preventable nutrition- and lifestyle-related diseases.

What makes health coaches different from a doctor or therapist?

Health Coaches bridge the gap between wellness professionals and patients by helping clients develop strategies for lasting lifestyle changes that improve overall wellness and daily quality of life. Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches focus on the relationship between food and lifestyle and how they each affect health. They also support clients with primary food, or the things that nourish us off the plate. These lifestyle factors, including relationships, sleep, creativity, and joy, are essential for optimizing multidimensional health.

Do I give meal plans or tell people how to eat?

Rather than providing meal plans, Health Coaches help clients discover what kind of eating works best for them. Every person is bio-individual, so what works for one client may not work for the next.

What makes it holistic or integrative?

Health coaches take a holistic and integrative approach by focusing on multidimensional well-being—spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional. We believe true health comes from addressing the whole person. Lasting wellness isn’t achieved by treating symptoms alone, but by nurturing every aspect of who you are.

What kind of things can a Holistic Health coach help with?

While there are many possibilities for how Health Coaches can help their clients, their role is not to diagnose, treat, or take responsibility for bringing about wellness changes in a client’s life; instead, a Health Coach supports clients in mobilizing internal strengths and external resources to achieve self-determined health and wellness goals.

Where is the health history form that I fill out before the free SESSION?

The Health History form will be sent via email once your initial Health History session has been scheduled. To ensure adequate time for review, please complete and return the form 30 minutes before your scheduled session.
